Galle Sri Lanka


Galle (Sinhala: ගාල්ල;Tamil: காலி) is a major city in Sri Lanka, situated on the southwestern tip of Sri Lanka, 119 km from Colombo. Galle is the administrative capital of Southern Province, Sri Lanka and the district capital of Galle District. It is the fifth largest City in the country after the capital Colombo, Kandy, JaffnaGalle is the best example of a fortified city built by the Portuguesein south and southeast Asia, showing the interaction between Portuguese architectural styles and south Asian traditions.
